Starting a new tank and clarifying cloudy aquarium water is easy with EcoBio-Stone.  They are made of a paste mixture containing mineral-rich, porous volcanic stones, special cement, nutrients, and beneficial bacteria (bacillus subtilis natto - the same type of bacteria found in the Japanese delicacy "natto") sealed in a live and propagable state.

When EcoBio-Stone bacteria come in contact with water, they immediately propagate, releasing millions of EcoBio-Stone bacteria that multiply every half hour.  The beneficial bacteria then degrade organic matter, this deodourises and clarifies cloudy aquarium water.  EcoBio-Stone is unique because the bacteria live in the block, making it unnecessary to add new bacteria for about 2 years.  Because the bacteria propagate quickly, EcoBio-Stones shorten, even eliminate "new tank syndrome".
